THE ROLE
I am seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join my client, a friendly firm of building construction consultants in the City of London.
You will work on new build, refurbishment and fit out projects for retail, leisure, hospitality and other construction projects from feasibility through delivery on site.
Projects generally valued up to around £75m.
You will run your own projects and supervise graduates if required.
THE COMPANY
My client is a successful firm of construction consultants providing project management and cost management services to private and corporate clients.
They have two UK offices and service clients within the UK and internationally.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager in the building construction industry.
You will need to be working for another firm of construction consultants or multi disciplinary consultants in the construction industry.
You must have worked as a QS on high value construction projects from feasibility through project delivery and handover.
You will be fully conversant with all pre and post contract duties including feasibility studies, cost planning, tender documentation and award, contract administration and all post contract duties.
Ideally you will have some experience of retail rollout projects along with other types of commercial projects.
You will have good overall technical knowledge of construction procedures.
You will ideally be chartered with the RICS or equivalent in the construction industry.
You should have experience of using JCT contracts.
You must be able to provide high quality early cost advice to clients.
Have excellent English to write formal reports and documents.
Salary is negotiable according to your experience but likely to be in the range of £60000 to £70000 per annum plus pension, fees and discretionary bonus.
