THE ROLE

I am seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join my client, a friendly firm of building construction consultants in Birmingham.

You will work on new build, refurbishment and fit out projects for retail, leisure, hospitality and other construction projects from feasibility through delivery on site.

Projects generally valued up to around £75m.

You will assist the Associate Director across the full range of quantity surveying / cost management duties including both pre and post contract work and be keen to work towards your APC to become RICS qualified in construction project management.

THE COMPANY

My client is a successful firm of construction consultants providing project management and cost management services to private and corporate clients.

They have two UK offices and service clients within the UK and internationally.

THE CANDIDATE

You will be an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with an RICS accredited Degree in construction commercial management such as BSc Hons in Quantity Surveying or similar.

Support will be given to become chartered with the RICS.

Ideally you may have already started working towards the APC.

My client would prefer that you have gained experience working for another firm of PQS or multi disciplinary consultants doing pre and post contract work as a quantity surveyor / cost manager.

You should have excellent communication skills and be keen to work as part of a team.

You should have some experience of using JCT contracts.

Have excellent written and spoken English.

Salary is negotiable according to your experience but likely to be in the range of £37000 to £43000 per annum (or slightly more) plus pension, fees and discretionary bonus.
