THE ROLE
I am seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager or a Quantity Surveyor who is recently chartered to join my client, an ambitious and growing firm of construction consultants in the City of London.
You will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects including office fit out for occupiers, new build residential apartments, hotels etc.
Projects currently are generally valued from £2m to £20m mainly developer led.
You will work on the full run of PQS duties including all pre and post contract work.
THE COMPANY
My client is a successful growing firm of construction consultants with a good reputation offering both quantity surveying (cost management) and project management services.
They provide good ongoing training for those working towards becoming chartered with the RICS.
My client is growing slowly each year.
They are mainly working on projects in London and the South East but now have some projects further afield in Europe.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be a Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager who has a BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management or similar subject and you will be either working towards taking your APC soon or you may be recently chartered with the RICS or up to a couple of years PQE.
You will need to have at least 18 months experience post graduation with another firm of PQS.
You should be working for another firm of construction consultants / PQS and have a stable work record.
You will be able to do all aspects of cost management and quantity surveying from inception to completion of projects with experience of both pre and post contract duties.
Experience of pre-contract estimating, procurement, contract administration, cost reporting and final account resolution is essential.
You should have good IT and client facing and communication skills.
Salary is very negotiable according to experience up to c. £50000 per annum plus pension and benefits.
