THE ROLE
I am seeking an Associate Quantity Surveyor to join a small firm of consultants in their Cambridgeshire office near to Huntingdon.
You will work as a Quantity Surveyor but also do some work as an Employer’s Agent and Project Manager.
You will work on varied projects for private sector residential, public sector leisure, public sector education projects valued from around £300K refurbishment to £25m new build with the majority of projects valued up to around £10m.
THE COMPANY
My client is a small firm of PQS working on projects in the public and private sectors.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be a a Senior Quantity Surveyor keen to move up to an Associate QS role with a small firm of PQS where you can make a difference.
You should be working for another firm of construction consultants / PQS and have a stable work record.
You will need to have a Degree or Diploma or similar ideally in Quantity Surveying and you will be MRICS or similarly qualified.
You should have excellent client facing skills and be keen to work as part of a dynamic small team. You must be self motivated and be able to work independently.
You will be able to do all aspects of cost management and quantity surveying from inception to completion of projects with expeirence of all pre and post contract work.
You should also have some experience of the Employers Agent and PM roles as you will do both as well as Cost Management.
You will need to have an understanding of JCT and NEC forms of contract.
Some flexibility regarding working location is OK but you will need to be able to get to their office in Cambridgeshire.
Projects are mainly in East of England, Hertfordshire, Essex, London but some other projects are across England.
Salary is in the region of £45000 to £60000 per annum plus pension and bonus.
