Clerk of Works (new build residential)
THE ROLE
I am seeking CLERK OF WORKS to join my client ASAP to join my client, a long established, busy firm of construction consultants to work on substantial new build residential projects.
You will work mainly site based on projects in Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Essex, London and surrounding areas.
THE CLIENT
My client is a firm of construction consultants with several UK offices. They have a good reputation and are a highly respected firm.
They work on construction projects in the public and private sectors.
THE CANDIDATE
You will have a City & Guilds, NVQ / SVQ Level 2 or 3 or BTEC / SQA national award in construction or similar.
Ideally you will be a Member of the Institute of Clerk of Works although this is not essential.
You will need experience of checking drawings and written instructions and using them as a reference when inspecting work.
You will need to have gained good experience of residential construction for new build houses and also purpose built flats.
You will have a good understanding of the building construction industry with good knowledge of materials, trades, methods and legal requirements.
You will have a good attention to detail.
Good communication skills are essential.
UK driving licence and own car is required for this role.
My client’s office is in Kent so you should be based within commuting distance of Kent if possible.
Salary will be up to £55000 per annum plus pension, 45ppm, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
